It doesn't explain the real background of the actual disease nor explain why this has happened in most other countries too All the excuses given about the lack of ID consultants, the organisational failings in the Health Protection Agency, other diseases like AIDS and Ebola fever being being more important.... how could this co-incidentally happen in the Netherlands, France, Russia, Canada, Spain, Italy, Australia and so on across the world at the same time?
Anyway, it does actually provide a nice kind of get-out clause and perhaps allows a pathway which could ease the new health agency into saving face and beginning to treat patients.
Looks like the previous Lyme expert for the UK will be made the scapegoat, but she will be OK as she has already been given a massively enhanced early retirement pension.
How hunky dory is that?

A different part of the history of Lyme that has been ignored - For those who couldn’t make the conference, a recording of Stella’s Illuminating History talk is now available on YouTube. This attempts to explain why we have the mess we have regarding Lyme disease in the UK.
